Candid Business Conversations

A Note from Angela is incoming. Some candid conversation of my own. You've been forewarned.

I love a good, candid business conversation with smiles and laughs.

Do you think the old business repertoire is outdated? It has its place, but when was the last time you felt at ease using a stiff business approach?

I am great at creating a little humor but being professional. However, even I find the old approach used in years passed to be stale. I found myself thinking about that today when I had a kind email and a separate phone exchange earlier today.

The business exchange on the phone made me care. I was invested in the person on the other end. I almost forgot this was supposed to be a business exchange.

The email made me smile because it was well crafted and affectionate.

I loved it.

Whether anything pans out, email or phone, I feel lightened. I'm not weighed down with anxiety or worried about what wasn't said.

While I can shake hands and take the lead, there is something to be said for those lighter business moments. The smiles and genuine conversations will always feel more organic to me.
